Technology is a focus area at John Adams. We have a computer lab with 30 eMac computers with CD-ROM and Internet conductivity, a scanner, and two laser printers. We also have at least one Macintosh with CD-ROM and color printer in every classroom. We have telephones in all classrooms. The District provided us with a wonderful software system, “Success Maker” that supports the development of math and reading skills for our at-risk students. We received a State Technology Grant in the spring of 1997 to expand the use of technology in our Language Arts program and with the help of the PTA will have a printer, a 27” TV, and a VCR with access to cable programming in each classroom to enrich instruction/learning. Students receive technology instruction in the regular classroom, as well as, in the Computer Lab. The PTA is also helping us to building our software library. In 2004-2005 we implemented the Accelerated Reader Program.YMCA Before and After School Care
